Having discussed blogging as a group and checking out some other teacher blogs, how do you plan on using a blog in your classroom?

I will probably focus more on a blog for the Girls Book Club rather than my class since I have so few students/classes.

I plan to use this for test and midterm review. I will be having students post review questions and respond with answers.
I will also have students write updates about computer club with a weekly post.

Maybe students could post questions about homework assignments here... or we could discuss real-world applications for the math their learning.

My students could respond to posted discussion questions or JVQC could use this to share responses and ideas.

I think I will use the Blog to support students, post what I am reading and maybe use it for clubs, such as Scrabble Pubs

Students could post questions to each other about homework, concepts taught in class, or share ideas for solving real-world problems. They could answer one another in a way that maybe makes more sense than the way I taught it in class. Sometimes kids learn more from each other than they do from adults!

I plan to utilize the blog to create online discussion groups about books, technology and current events in the Escobedo library.

Students could use the site to help each other out with homework questions or other math concepts. Absent students would have another place to go to find out what they missed (other than my website).

I will discuss with students topics covered in class and have some sort of whole class discussion requiring them to respond to others posts.

I would use it for test review. Students could ask their questions and other students can reply.

I would like to use my blog to post discussion prompts where students answer a question. Students would also respond to another student's response.

I honestly am not ready for blogging in my classroom. It is something that I myself am not yet comfortable with so until I have some real quality time to get comfortable with it I will not be doing it in my classroom. I think it may be valuable, but it won't be valuable if I am uncomfortable with it.

I will be blogging with my students by next week. To get my feet wet, I will start by posting questions and having the students respond. I am interested to see what kind of responses I will get. This is very exciting.

I plan to post questions to my students and have them respond. I also hope to not have a meltdown when I try to figure this out :)
