Have you started using a blog in your classroom? If so, what are you finding are the pros and cons of using a blog in your classroom. If you are not using one, can you see it fitting into your classroom? What kind of support would you need to find a way to have it 'fit'?

No, I have not started using it in my classroom. I find that a pro would be students are highly motivated. A con is that all students don't have internet access.

I will fit it into my classes. I plan on using edublogs starting second quarter. I find the only negative thing about the site is it tends to be really slow when a lab full of people are all logged on.

I can definitely see my class using a blog. I would use it as a discussion place for students to post responses. I think I would need help to get the kids started and show them how to post. I will be starting my blog within a few weeks. Thanks for your help!

No I haven't started using this in my classroom. Again, I see that it may have use in my classroom, but I need the time to sit at work on it.

My students loved the quiz I posted on my blog. The link I posted to practice a skill in English was a huge hit! I had students practice identifying main idea. I am going to continue to post links to helpful sites.

I have not started using it yet. I would love to start. I will check your sight and play with it over the weekend. I think it will help my students to discuss math problems and practice their writing skills.

No, I have not yet started using blogging in my classroom, but I definitely plan on using it soon! There are many obvious pros, but the only con I find is navigating through the edublog site.

I am so excited to use it in the classroom. I have some great ideas. My only problem is that now that I have sold my prep, I don't have the time to sit and play around with it. I know that my kids are super excited.

I finally finished setting it up and began using it yesterday. I plan on using it this month by just answering some thinking questions and responding to others, an academic conversation. The students are writing news articles so I hope to publish a few on each periods blog.

I haven't used it yet, but I'm planning on having students, by class, do a poetry jam.

We are using my blog in our classroom as a place to summarize the daily lesson. Some days we don't post because I forget to have a student scribe. Another way we have used our blog is by taking a poll and adding comments. I wanted my students to participate in a discussion forum, but they have to be members of edublogs. Later this year all of my students will have a chance to write their own blogs. I am still experimenting on how and when we will use blogging. I would like to have it be another way to conduct discussions that engage more students. So I'm planning on adding voices in podcast discussion.

Have you had difficulties trying to reach all learners using the blogs? If so, how did you make the changes?
